DetailsView or FormView

Click the following "Movies" link to download the SQL Server "Movies" database and related image files (add these elements as "Existing Items" to the new project); create Project 10 as follows:

• At the top of the page a banner image (having something to do with movies or movie stars which you already may have used for Projects 8 and 9)
   
• A SqlDataSource linked to the all fields in "Movies" table (use the "Advanced" option to create the INSERT and UPDATE commands--the DELETE command is created automatically as well but it will not be needed for this assignment)
   
• A DetailsView or a FormView (see maximum grade values for the different versions of the assignment below) with the following elements:
   
  • Set its DataSource property to the preceding SqlDataSource
  • Format it using the "AutoFormat" command
  • Enable and implement inserting and editing, (remember to include the INSERT and UPDATE commands to the SqlDataSource--see above) and paging (modify the pager Mode to FirstPreviousNextLast and update the styles of the pager elements)

Complete the assignment above as a DetailsView application for a maximum grade of 8½ out of 10 points

Complete the assignment above as a DetailsView application as per the instructions above with the following additional formatting for a maximum grade of 9 out of 10 points

• Format the "MovieID" field to display as four digits using the DataFormatString "{0:D4}"
• Format the "MovieID" field to display centered by modifying its horizontal alignment in the ItemStyle properties (only for the DetailsView application but centering can be accomplished for this field within the templates of a FormView application)
• Format the "Stars" field to display with one decimal position using the DataFormatString "{0:N1}"

Complete the assignment above as a FormView application with all items from the "Movies" data source inside an HTML table, with all formatting elements described above, and with inserting and editing of records for a maximum grade of 10 out of 10 points (Hint: To enable inserting and editing, both an InsertItemTempate and EditItemTempate must be created for every field except the "MovieID")

The completed project, a ZIP file that contains the folder with all files for the website, is due to Prof. Struck as an attachment to a Brightspace dropbox by 11:59 p.m. on the date specified in the course outline.
